Lochie William Smith
Lochie William Smith
Story
On 18th May, our angel Lochie William was born at 16 weeks after an ultrasound scan showed that he had already passed away. He was a beautiful gift who had an immeasurable impact on our lives. One of the most devastating experiences was handing Lochie to a midwife, knowing that he was never coming home with us.
During my time in hospital, we were blessed to be touched by Bears of Hope when we were given a bear in honour of another angel baby. I held onto my bear so tightly and instead of leaving hospital empty handed, I came home with a beautiful bear to remember Lochie by, which also constantly reminds me that I am not alone in my grief.
To mark Lochie's 2nd anniversary, my brotherJosh, my sister-in-law Monique and I will be running as part of the Mudgee Running Festival to raise money for Bears of Hope. A non-for-profit charity organisation that touches so many lives in the midst of terrible grief. Josh will be competing in the half marathon and Monique and I will be competing in the 5km run.
We would love our network of friends and family to donate to Bears of Hope in honour of our Lochie.
We hope that Lochie's passing will provide support and hope to many other parents suffering the same pain we endured.
We thank you for your love and support.
Love Erin and Glen Smith and Josh and Monique Dunn
